Overview
The OR Scrub Tech, under the supervision of Director and / or Clinical Manager / Coordinator, is responsible for preparing supplies and equipment for interventions, using appropriate techniques. Provides technical services as assigned and directed. The OR Scrub Tech assists and / or performs patient procedures that are within the scope of their unit specific Skills Summation. This position works in an in-patient / hospital based environment.
Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Prioritizes and addresses technical needs to meet patient conditions.
- Assists the health care team during surgical procedures by integrating an understanding for anatomy and physiology with the surgical procedure.
- Prioritizes and addresses technical needs to meet patient conditions.
- Provides safe patient care for the intra-operative phase, including specimen handling and medication labeling and handling.

Education
High School Diploma or GED- Required
Completion of OR Technician education- Preferred
Certification & Licensures
OR SCRUB TECH TRAINEE-
BLS - Required upon hire
OR SCRUB TECH NON CERTIFIED-
BLS - Required upon hire
OR SCRUB TECH CERTIFIED-
BLS - Required upon hire
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), or Tech in Surgery Certified (TS-C), or NCCT - Required
Employee will obtain and maintain appropriate clinical competencies for the roles assigned by their departmental leader.
Experience
OR SCRUB TECH NON CERTIFIED-
1 year of OR Tech Experience OR Completion of NAH OR Tech training Program - Required

1 year of OR Tech Experience - Preferred
