Northern Comfort, a respected 16-room assisted living facility in Wasilla, Alaska, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Administrator (Designee) to join our team. The Assistant Administrator reports directly to the Administrator and is a leadership position.
In this role, you will:
- Assist the Administrator with daily operations, ensuring the smooth running of the facility.
- Manage the staff, resident medication and care in the Administrators’ absence.
- Oversee resident care and ensure all residents receive high-quality services that meet their individual needs.
- Manage staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
- Manage inventory and for groceries, cleaning supplies and incontinence supplies.
- Transporting residents to appointments.
- Seasonal decorating of the facility.
- Assist in conducting fire drills and safety checks.
- Provide coverage in the event of staff shortages.
- Develop and implement programs and activities that promote resident well-being and engagement.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with residents, families, and staff.
- Handle administrative tasks such as:
- Recordkeeping
- Reporting
- Scheduling appointments
- Answering phones
- Processing staff timesheets (in Administrators’ absence)
- Other duties as designated by Administrator.
Qualifications:
- The individual must complete an approved management or administrator training course and have at least two years of documented experience, relevant to the population of residents to be served, as a care provider, if the administrator will be providing direct care in the home; OR
- The individual must complete a certified nurse aide training program that the Board of Nursing has approved under 12 AAC 44.830, or that is equivalent in content to the requirements of 12 AAC 44.835(c) and have at least two years of documented experience, relevant to the population of residents to be served as a care provider; OR
- The individual must have at least five years of documented experience, relevant to the population of residents to be served, as an administrator or staff supervisor of a home serving 10 or fewer residents; OR
- The individual must submit proof that the individual is a licensed or practical nurse or a registered nurse with documented experience relevant to the population of residents to be served.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior living setting.
- Driver’s license required.
- Strong understanding of assisted living regulations and compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Compassionate and patient with a genuine desire to serve seniors.
- Mandatory background check.
