Northern Concrete Construction is an industry leader in large concrete construction jobs meeting needs of general contractors.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This role requires the employee to drive and operator equipment such as boom trucks, pump trucks, conveyors, semi’s, lifts, skid loaders, tractors, etc. in addition to Yard Laborer duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Other duties may be assigned. Individual will work a varied schedule based on client needs.
- Safely drive and operate boom trucks, pump trucks, conveyors, tractor trailers and any other equipment as required.
- Load and unload trucks and executes job site deliveries in accordance with company safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform annual DOT inspections and ensure compliance with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Inspect vehicle, parts/accessories, load and securement to determine safe operating condition prior to departure on trip.
- Operates vehicle in compliance with company rules and all applicable state and federal regulations, and in accordance with accepted principles of safe driving.
- Perform minor vehicle and equipment repairs and preventative maintenance activities as needed.
- Execute the material stocking process from vendors (ensure accuracy of PO).
- Maintain the yard and all other Northern Concrete Construction, Inc.’s facilities and property.
- Report all accidents or incidents of equipment damage involving employee or company equipment.
- Maintain trip records as required.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, etc.
- Proper use and care of all equipment assigned to him/her for the performance of his/her duties.
- Load and unload equipment as required.
- Involved in the manufacturing of jobsite materials (may include fabrication/welding).
- Successfully inventory trucks with required materials and equipment.
- Ensures the cleanliness of company vehicles, equipment and premises.
- Complete repair and follow-up paperwork.
- Order parts when needed.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Basic knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS: Obtain and maintain within one (1) month of hire the following:
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A
- Must maintain a Federal Medical Card
- Aerial and lift certification
- Successfully complete NCC Safety Training
LANGUAGE SKILLS.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret state and federal regulations, driver’s logs, mileage records, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read schematics related to repair and maintenance of equipment.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to read concrete plans.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to comprehend and apply concepts of adding and subtraction two-and-three-digit numbers and basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of multiplication and division.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
