What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Sprinkler Technician position at Northern Cross Fire Protection?
Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, and maintain fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings according to blueprints and NFPA standards
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fire sprinkler systems
- Conduct tests to ensure proper functioning of fire sprinkler systems, per NFPA 25
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with fire sprinkler systems
- Repair or replace faulty or damaged sprinkler heads, valves, pipes, and system components
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to building codes and regulations
Experience & Skills:
- Training provided. Previous experience as a Fire Sprinkler Technician or Apprentice is required. Pay rate is based on experience and skill set.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Knowledge of fire safety systems is a plus
- Installation of fire sprinkler pipes and experience with pipe fabrication
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in fire sprinkler system installation and maintenance
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- This position will travel regularly out-of-state - TRAVEL POSITION
