About the Role
We are seeking an experienced ER Unit Technician to join our team at Northern Dutchess Hospital. As an ER Unit Technician, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, maintaining the Emergency Department environment, and performing various clerical duties.
Key Responsibilities
* Obtains pertinent registration information from patients and enters it into the computer system
* Performs order entry, including entering orders, charges, and reprinting orders
* Assists with the admitting process, including checking emergency department supplies and restocking as needed
* Performs ER tech skills competently, including vital signs, EKGs, bandaging, setting up oxygen, finger-stick glucose tests, etc.
* Facilitates communication between patients, families, and healthcare teams
Requirements
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Previous medical background and/or EMS training preferred
* BLS certification preferred
