MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited school of Medical Laboratory Technology OR an Associate Degree in Science with a major/concentration in Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Driving report from Department of Motor Vehicles must be acceptable to the hospital’s liability carrier.
MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by a major Certifying Agency.
MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must meet one or more of the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science or chemical, physical, or biological science.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Medical Technology AND/OR an Associate Degree in Science (preferably with an HEW/HHS certification).
- Must meet personnel requirements as described under CLIA for High complexity testing.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Driving report from Department of Motor Vehicles must be acceptable to the hospital’s liability carrier.
MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or equivalent by a major certifying agency such as AMT or ASCP.
