Food Expeditor (Expo)
The Food Expeditor (Expo) is responsible for making sure both sides of the kitchen are running smoothly and efficiently. They are responsible for ticket times being up to standards and should be the only one communicating between the cooks and the front of house employees. Ensuring each dish going out is of high quality and plated correctly and all items on the ticket are going out together.
Essential Functions
- Perform a variety of entry-level restaurant tasks.
- Responsible for appearance and finished quality of food orders.
- Ensure food orders are served promptly and efficiently to the correct table in the restaurant while ensuring guest satisfaction and overall food quality.
- Making sure cooks and runners are aware of ticket times and items going together.
- Watching that re-fire items get executed correctly.
- Communicating with team members if there are any issues with tickets.
- Informing management/chefs of issues.
- Ensuring re-fires are made and handled in the correct
- manner.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively to back of house and front of house. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require occasional moving of products weighing up to 30 pounds.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, maintain an attention to detail, while working in a team or group environment..
- Experience in this position involving customer service or food and beverage service.
- Must be authorized to work in the US
Required Certifications:
- Must have a valid Alaska Food Handlers card.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
