The Opportunity:
The Northern Illinois Food Bank seeks an extraordinarily motivated candidate to join our team as a Warehouse Associate. This role will support daily operations by fulfilling orders, managing inventory, and ensuring an organized and efficient warehouse environment. Flexibility is essential, as this position requires the ability to transition seamlessly between driving and warehouse duties based on operational needs.
This Full-Time position is based out of our West Suburban Center (Geneva) location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in refrigerated and frozen environments which includes frequent movement between freezer and refrigerator areas for stocking, organizing, and ensuring food safety standards are met.
- Keep food products readily available daily in designated areas.
- Pull all Agency Orders accurately and in accord with requested Schedules.
- Maintain assigned area of Distribution Center in clean and orderly manner.
- Assist in loading/unloading trucks/trailers and putting products in appropriate locations.
- Handle appropriate paperwork as required.
- Conduct safety and maintenance inspections of lift truck (s) before use each day, and report problems to Supervisor.
- Assist in product processing, inventory and other areas as needed.
- Assist in keeping facilities clean.
- Is responsible to adhering to the food safety standards established by Northern Illinois Food Bank as outlined by Feeding America and per AIB accreditation. This includes all applicable training.
- Perform other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned or required.
