The Plant Loader Operator’s duties include safe and efficient operation of the Loader in a construction asphalt plant. Travel required 25% - 100% depending on the crew. Job posting for the 2025 construction season with anticipated season start in April 2025.

Duties and responsibilities
- Operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with a front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk aggregate materials to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and load trucks
- Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns the steering wheel to operate loader
- Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material
- Maintain hopper levels to achieve maximum production of 400 tons/hour
- Maintain stockpiles
- Maintain pads and level when necessary
- Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning
- Safe operation of heavy construction equipment
- Loading trucks with dirt/clay/gravel
- Picking up excess gravel/clay
- Following rules, regulations, procedures, policies, and instructions
- All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations
Qualifications
- Loader Operator experience is preferred, will train for the right candidate
- Experience working in an aggregate plant setting is highly preferred
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment urine drug test and submit to random drug and/or alcohol testing during employment
Working conditions
- Outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures
- Moderate exposure to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises.
Physical requirements
- Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner.
- Clarity of vision at varying distances to perform various work assignments.
- Standing or walking for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment.
- Reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds
