Specific Responsibilities:

Safety:

  • Responsible for safety repairs throughout plant.

Machine Maintenance/Repair: * Supervises the disassembling and rebuilding of Acme Gridley, Cone Automatic Screw Machines, Kasto and Do-All Saws as well as related equipment such as drill presses, mills, mechanical presses, sanders, grinders, etc.

  • Supervises operators of necessary equipment used to make parts required for machine repair and rebuilding.
  • Utilizes working knowledge of tools such as: electrical testers; hand tools; wrenches, etc. necessary for effectively performing maintenance and repair duties.
  • Supervises gas and electrical welding of metal.
  • Diagnoses and supervises repairs of faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components for machines and equipment.
  • Supervises installation and repairs of electrical systems apparatus, and electrical and electronic components for industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Supervises installation of power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment.
  • Supervises connection of power supply wires to machines and equipment and cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Supervises diagnoses of malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures using test equipment.
  • Supervises replacement of faulty electrical components of machinery such as relays, switches and motors.
  • Supervises replacement of electric motor bearings and rewiring of motors.
  • Supervises dismantling of machines or equipment, to examine parts for defect.
  • Supervises replacement of defective part with a new part.
  • Supervises assembling and testing of machines to verify correction of malfunction.
  • Supervises maintenance and lubrication of machine tools and equipment.
  • Supervises welding of parts, using arc or gas welding equipment.Building Maintenance / Repair:
  • Supervises performance of tasks to ensure building upkeep: repairs of water leaks, window, doors, paints, etc.
  • Supervises repairs of general plumbing problems.
  • Supervises fixing and installing wiring and conduit and electrical apparatus in building(s).
  • Notifies President of need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment.

Preventative Maintenance:

  • Maintains an organized and up-to-date inventory of repair parts to prevent unnecessary machine shutdown.
  • Determines what repair parts are required and includes proper stock numbers and requests parts as needed.
  • Maintains up-to-date P.M. records and schedule of machine repairs.

Problem Solving:

  • Correctly diagnoses mechanical, electrical, etc. problems and supervises repairs of these problems.
  • Effectively prioritizes and coordinates projects to suit the needs of the production shop(s).
  • Identifies necessary preventive maintenance for machines and buildings and performs these tasks.
  • Supervises the construction of equipment needed to aid the operation of existing equipment.
  • Identifies the maintenance needs of the company using a three (3) month plan.
  • Creates a preventive maintenance plan for all operating equipment.

General:

  • Keeps President informed of anything that could affect the performance and profitability of the company.
  • Performs any other duties, not specifically stated herein, but which may be assigned by the President and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

Education: High School Diploma; GED; or adequate experience to substitute.

Training: Machine Repair, Electrical Repair

Experience: 2 Years minimum

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.24 - $24.38 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
