What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at Northern Indiana Manufacturing?
Provide daily and weekly reports as necessary or as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager to keep him/her fully informed of the performance or status of all operations of the department. Perform any special assignments as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager.
Ensure the effective utilization of company resources, i.e. manpower, materials, machines and facilities.
Major Responsibilities:
- All Metrological Calibrations
- Receiving Materials and Product.
- Gauge R/R Studies
- Completed Job Packet and Blueprint Files
- Maintenance and Issuing of Operator Job Packets and Gages.
- Investigation and Generation of PPAP Documentation.
- MRB Review.
- Operate CMM.
- Preventive/Corrective Action.
- Reports and Records
- General
Specific Responsibilities:
Calibration:
- Responsible for performing calibration and maintenance of all measurement equipment.
- Responsible for all outsourcing calibration requirements.
- Responsible for scheduling calibration of operator gauges.
- Maintains a schedule for the testing and calibration of lab equipment.
- Maintains accurate and current calibration records.
Receiving:
- Conducts receiving inspection of vendor supplied materials per receiving inspection instructions.
- Audits incoming shipments and rejects damaged items and records shortages.
Gauge R/R Studies:
- Performs Gauge R/R studies.
- Alerts Quality Assurance Manager and all departments of any problems discovered in studies.
- Maintains accurate and current records of studies.
Completed Job Packet and Blueprint Files
- Purges all out-of-date prints from “hard copy” file.
- Performs Initial Sample Instructions Reports.
- Assists in the creation of Work Instructions.
Maintenance and Issuing of Operator Job Packets and Gages.
- Pulls production gauging and paperwork according to prints on a daily basis and issues to operators in order to maintain uninterrupted production.
MRB Review
- Assists with monitoring of scrap percentages in manufacturing areas.
- Assists in maintenance of MRB records as required.
- Participates in physical MRB review and disposition.
- Assists with daily scrap report for manufacturing areas.
Investigation and Generation of PPAP Documentation.
- Assist Quality Assurance Manager with PPAP submissions.
Operate CMM
Preventive/Corrective Action:
- Initiates and follows up on preventive and/or corrective actions.
- Maintains accurate and timely CAR records and files.
Reports and Records:
- Ensures that all requested written reports are prepared and submitted on time.
- Maintains all necessary/appropriate quality records.
General Responsibilities:
- Keeps Quality Assurance Manager informed of anything that could affect the performance and profitability of the company.
- Performs any other duties, not specifically stated herein, but which may be assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Training: Proficiency in basic gage use such as micrometers, calipers, comparator, & CMM.
Experience: At least one (1) year experience as a Quality Assurance Technician and/or Machine Operator.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
