POSITION TITLE: Americorps Senior Workforce Program Director
REPORTS TO: Vice President for Community Development
FSLA Classification -Non-Exempt
Pay Rate - $30.77 hourly
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for overall management of the Americorps Senior
Workforce Program including developing, coordinating and overseeing the training placements,
educational training, employment connectivity and job placement activities of the program.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Provide overall management of the program. Ensure that the program complies with all contractual
requirements, Americorps regulations, and outcome measures.
2. Work with the program manager to ensure a comprehensive plan is in place to recruit participants
that meet program guidelines.
3. Create and deliver program orientation for new trainees/participants that educates them on NKCAC
and AmeriCorps Seniors and prepares them for success in their educational and training
assignments.
4. Develop comprehensive schedule of training activities that help participants develop marketable job
skills to enhance job readiness, marketability, and placement.
5. Conduct or coordinate training site recruitment and selection activities.
6. Ensure MOUs are in place with each training site.
7. Ensure training site activities meet outcomes defined in grant application.
8. Plan and implement volunteer development programs and activities.
9. Oversee the maintenance of participant files, general and electronic files, and records by program
and employment documentation requirements.
10. Assure the timely processing of trainee time sheets.
11. Develop and maintain positive relationships with Americorps and other funders as necessary.
12. Prepare and submit all required reports, both internal and external.
13. Prepare and manage budgets as assigned, ensuring that the budget and spending comply with
contractual requirements.
14. Prepare or arrange public information materials, such as brochures, newsletters, and posters, as
needed.
15. Develop and maintain professional connectivity with volunteer/training stations, education partners,
and private and public sector employers to facilitate training and job placement of participants.
16. Support pre- and post-placement trainees in job search, interviewing, and retention activities. Seek
job shadow, internship, on-the-job training, and volunteer opportunities for trainees.
17. Create, implement, and maintain a system to document records of contacts, relationships, and
outcomes with employers and placed graduates, demographic information on customers, job
search tracking, job retention tracking, and processing of trainee time and attendance.
18. Actively participate in professional development, program collaboration, strategic planning, and
other organizational development activities, as assigned.

19. Assures compliance with all regulations and grant requirements.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and at least seven years’ experience in federal grants and
program oversight or a related position.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must possess public speaking ability.
• Ability to guide, direct, and teach basic technology navigation to older demographic groups.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, with disparate age and
demographic groups.
• Ability to work with people of diverse and varying socio-economic backgrounds.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. up to 50% of the time
• Ability to sit at, read, and enter data on computer for prolonged periods of time up to 75% of the time.
