Position Summary:
Operate in compliance with any and all of the policies and procedures as established by NKCAC Head Start and the performance standards as established by the Federal Government regarding program operations to promote and provide quality service delivery to the children, families, and community of our service area. Fulfill responsibilities as an early childhood development, and health services team member and carry out tasks as outlined in the Component Plan.
Hours: This position is an hourly non-exempt full-time role Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:
- Work cooperatively with all components of the program.
- Maintain the confidentiality of staff and clients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Respond to communication from parents, staff and management in a timely fashion.
- Participate in the annual self-assessment.
- Attend staff meetings and training, as required.
- Follow established child abuse reporting requirements.
- Assist in all recruitment efforts, and maintain full Head Start and child care enrollment.
- Recruit and train parent and community volunteers.
- Secure in-kind donations to match the required non-Federal share amount each program year, and enter all documentation into Child Plus.
- Understand and support the agencys Strategic Plan.
- Understand and support all program goals, including the PCFE framework and School Readiness goals.
- Support staff in maintaining DRCC and component compliance.
- Monitor center data entered in Child Plus and Teaching Strategies Gold.
- Support and model the implementation of Conscious Discipline in the classroom.
- Support and implement the programs coaching model.
- Obtain CLASS reliability, and support teaching staff in developing and achieving CLASS oriented goals.
- Submit monthly reports to the Head Start Director
- Maintain a current record book for the Day Care Licensing Department of site employees and
- administrative staff (i.e. Criminal checks, TB verification, employee training, etc.).
- Complete all child care licensing and CCAP paperwork in a timely manner.
- Respond to any compliance issues with daycare licensing and component coordinators.
- Check and maintain a safe, clean facility.
- Act as liaison between site staff and management staff.
- Compile facility checklist monthly and submit to supervisor.
- Notify and seek guidance from administrative office when a change is made in program routine or emergency situations arise.
- Facilitate and plan monthly parent meetings, training, workshops, etc.
- Encourage parent participation in all component areas.
- Monitor and approve employee time sheets.
- Conduct safety drills (fire, tornado, earthquake, etc.) as outlined in procedures and submit reports to administration office.
- Update and submit emergency preparedness plans annually.
- Ensure daily operations are in accordance with Federal, State, and local licensing agency
- requirements.
- Oversee daily operations of Center facilities.
- Oversee on-site management of Center staff in coordination with appropriate supervisor.
- Ensure child/adult ratio of center classrooms.
- Evaluate center staff in cooperation with appropriate supervisor.
- Conduct one monthly center meeting with staff utilizing an agenda developed by the administrative team.
- Complete Request for Conviction Records and a Child Abuse/Neglect (CAN) forms for all
- parents/volunteers and submit to H.R. Director for processing. Maintain copies of completed forms at applicable Center, including all training.
- Assures compliance with all program and grant requirements
- Performance of any work related task deemed necessary by direct supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred or the minimum of Associate degree with a minimum of three years program experience in a childcare or pre-school setting
- Supervisory skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Transportation to fulfill job requirements.
- NKCAC-Head Start cannot employ anyone who has been found by the cabinet to have abused or neglected a child.
- Ability to work with people of diverse and varying socio-economic backgrounds.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have the ability to stand/walk/run after young children 100% of the time
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 10 lbs up to 10% of the time
- Ability to sit at, read, and enter data on computer for prolonged periods of time up to 75% of the time
