Job Description

Job Title : Certified Surgical Tech (CST)

Job Specialty : Operating Room

Job Duration : 26 weeks

Shift : 7P-7A, Night

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 1 year preferred; more experience is a plus

License : CST is preferred but not required

Certifications : BLS

Must-Have :

Experience with various case types specified in job description
Comfortability wearing lead

Job Description :

Participate in surgeries for patients of all ages, from pediatrics to adults, encompassing 26 service lines.

Handle pediatric cases heavily focused on ENT, General, and Orthopedic surgeries.

Experience in Neurosurgery is highly preferred, conducting procedures like craniotomy and large tumor resections, among others.

Engage in Trauma and General surgeries, dealing with a wide range of cases from open bellies to various trauma-related surgeries.

Preferred experience in Vascular surgeries, though not mandatory.

Perform Urology procedures including lithotripsy and cystoscopy.

Execute ENT surgeries and GYN operations ranging from tubal ligations to hysterectomies.

Proficient in Ortho and Ortho Trauma surgeries, including total joint replacements and fracture repairs.

Robotics experience, particularly with Davinci XI, is preferred and proof of Intuitive Training modules is essential if robotically trained.

Manage Ophthalmology, Thoracic, Max Facial, and Dental procedures.

Average approximately 60 cases per day.

Support on the Unit :

Work under the supervision of a Supervisor / Manager along with Assistant Manager (Surgical Tech), Team Leads, CRNAs, Anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Anesthesia Tech and Orderly support for room turnover.

Equipment Reps and Charge RNs available for support.

On-site OR Educator and 24 / 7 Respiratory Therapy.

Technology / Equipment :

Utilize the Cerner EMR system.

Manage IV pumps and medication dispensing systems.

Scheduling :

Flexible scheduling with 8h, 10h, and 12h shifts depending on requisition.

Weekend rotation involves 1 weekend day per 4-week schedule.

Call shifts are required; specifics to be discussed upon hiring.

Additional Notes :

Surgical scrubs provided

Orientation includes 2 days with a Preceptor

Holiday work is minimal and based on the schedule, covering only major holidays.

Applicants should be prepared for a range of surgical procedures and demonstrate proficiency in maintaining a sterile and organized operating room environment.
