Patient Service Rep II is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as primary contact with patients, responding to phone calls and in-person inquiries.
- Maintains accurate medical records, including scanning and organizing patient data into the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Processes releases of medical records to outside providers and obtains records from outside providers when necessary.
- Assists new patients with completing questionnaires and greets patients upon arrival.
- Promptly answers telephone calls and exercises judgment and tact to ascertain caller's needs.
- Scans patient's medical records into electronic format using established process.
- Schedules appointments and/or follow-up visits.
- Prepares forms as needed and ensures patients' paper chart is properly updated or EHR record is current.
- Receives laboratory and x-ray reports, etc., and integrates materials into respective chart after clinical staff review.
- Correctly enters/updates insurance and demographic information while checking patients in.
- Contacts specialty offices to obtain reports or retrieve from CPSI when necessary.
- Obtains patient payments of deductibles, co-pays, and previous balance amounts when possible.
