Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Cancer Institute in Brewer, Maine. You will be joining an experienced and established team of (11) medical oncologists, (4) radiation oncologists, (3) pediatric oncologists and, (11) Nurse practitioners at the state-of-the-art Lafayette Family Cancer Institute. Our center offers:

• • All-inclusive services located on-site to include imaging, phlebotomy, radiation, and a lymphedema clinic.
  • A partnership with Jackson Laboratory to provide genomic testing to our patients.
  • A full-service cancer genetic counseling clinic with (3) Genetic Counselors.
  • Excellent surgical support that includes a breast program, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and colorectal surgery.
  • Multiple disease specific tumor boards.
  • Access to over fifty clinical trials.

  • Ample daily support of nurse practitioners and oncology certified registered nurses.

  While mid-level oncology or related experience is preferred, the center may consider new graduates with prior clinical oncology experience as a RN, CMA, etc.

  The Lafayette Family Cancer Institute, dedicated in 2009, is located approximately three miles from the main Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center campus, and is one of only two cancer centers in Maine to be a part of a formal collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Care Collaborative. The purpose of the Dana-Farber Collaborative membership is to enhance educational opportunities for member hospitals’ clinicians, enhance quality and patient-centered care, offer opportunities to consult with medical specialists at Dana-Farber in Boston, and provide expedited access to Dana-Farber for patients with complex cancers. Collaborative Members have access to a variety of services, customizable to their specific needs such as Direct Connect patient concierge, virtual consults and second opinions, research and clinical trials access, network case conferences, physician trainings, observerships, Learning at Dana-Farber, virtual lectures and symposia, nursing support and education, program development assistance, and business strategy assistance.
