Summary:
The Imaging Aide performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The Imaging Aide is responsible for assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting. The Imaging Aide is trained to use a wide variety of radiographic equipment, computers, and software. The Imaging Aide may be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and/or clinical services per operational needs. The individual must be able to resolve conflict and endure the pressures associated with a constantly changing work environment. The aide assists with exams on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups and performs patient assessment within the scope of practice. The exams may be performed in the various Radiology Imaging sections.
Responsibilities:
* Performs tasks of a clinical nature within scope of assigned duties and clinical expertise. * Provides excellent service with focus on patient and/or customer experience and ensures all functions related to customer service supports the department, member organization, and patient related goals. * Attends education sessions, workshops, and other continuing education opportunities to enhance or gain new skills. * Maintains a safe environment complying with NLH policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed. * Work with members of the team or department in an effective and efficient manner. * Performs other duties as assigned or required. *Treats all physicians and hospital personnel with respect and courtesy. *Conforms to accepted professional standards of attitude and behavior *Assists as a patient chaperone for US procedures as needed. *Responsible for safeguarding patient records. Access clinical and financial information on a work-related, need-to-know basis ONLY.
Other Information:
Essential: Graduate of or enrolled in an imaging certificate/degree program (radiography, mammography, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound, or nuclear medicine), with modality specific required registry eligibility within 6 months of hire.
