Facility Manager – Family Recreation Center

About Us
Northern Lights Recreation & coming soon Louie’s Sports Bar and Grill and Rocky's beer garden is a premier family entertainment center in Harbor Springs, MI. Our facility features a dynamic mix of attractions, including (currently under construction) a new sports bar and grill, a beer garden with mini golf, laser tag, an arcade, and a bowling alley. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Facility Manager to oversee daily operations, lead a team, and ensure an outstanding guest experience.
Position Overview
The Facility Manager will Manage the entire facility, overseeing all aspects of operations, including staff management, customer service, financial performance, and facility maintenance. This role requires a strong leader with experience in hospitality, entertainment, or recreation management.
Key Responsibilities Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee daily operations of all attractions, ensuring smooth and efficient function.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve any issues or complaints effectively.
- Ensure all games, attractions, and facilities are in working order.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Hire, train, and manage a diverse team, including bar/beer garden/kitchen staff, restaurant/beer garden bartenders and servers, counter staff for arcade and bowling, maintenance personnel.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture that prioritizes exceptional service.
- Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all departments.
- Conduct regular training sessions to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
Financial & Business Management
- Assist in developing and executing financial strategies to drive revenue and control costs.
- Monitor daily sales, labor, and expense reports to maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with liquor laws, health codes, and safety regulations.
- Work with the owner to develop promotions, events, and marketing strategies.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance
- Assist GM/owner to oversee routine maintenance and repairs for all attractions, bar, kitchen, and common areas.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment repairs and supply orders.
- Ensure safety standards and preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5 years of management experience in the hospitality, entertainment, or recreation industry.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a large, diverse team.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including liquor laws and kitchen procedures.
- Ability to analyze financial reports and manage budgets.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with POS systems, scheduling software, and facility management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in family entertainment centers, bowling alleys, arcades, or amusement parks.
- Knowledge of marketing, event planning, and social media strategies.
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and facility maintenance.
