Description
Northern Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in stainless steel fabrication, is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined individual to join our Mechanical Assembly team on 1st shift (6:00am - 3:30pm).
This is a hands-on position focused on custom, complex projects. We’re looking for a problem-solver with a mechanical mindset, capable of adapting to new challenges every day and working both independently and collaboratively to bring unique customer projects to life.
Responsibilities include:
- Assemble mechanical components for custom customer projects, such as gearboxes, motors, drums, and more.
- Collaborate with the assembly team to follow detailed blueprints and ensure proper installation of all parts.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues during assembly and escalate as needed for resolution.
- Perform general labor tasks, including finishing edges, punching out parts, tapping holes, and operating small equipment.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace while meeting quality standards.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, lift, climb, balance, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Requirements
- Mechanically inclined with experience using hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly blueprints preferred.
- Basic math and measurement comprehension.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, self-motivated work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Prior forklift experience is preferred but not required.
