Northern Michigan Sports Medicine of Petoskey is looking to hire a dynamic individual for a Front Desk Manager. The position would involve direct interaction with patients, physician’s offices, and insurance. Tasks would include completing patient registration, patient scheduling, patient chart management, and attaining insurance authorization. We are looking for someone with good phone and computer skills. Candidates must be flexible in their weekly schedule, a multitasker, organized, proficient in computer skills, and have the ability to interact pleasantly with patients to ensure excellent customer service. Attention to detail is an important aspect of this position along with dependability.
The position is a full-time position, with no weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide everyone with an exceptional experience at each interaction – including greeting, smiling, tone of voice, and facial expressions.
- Schedule appointments, as well as coordinate multiple appointments using scheduling protocol.
- Check patients in, review and update patient information (name, address, phone number, insurance information, etc.)..
- Set up new patient accounts.
- Communicate with clinical staff.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and messages.
- Direct patient questions and concerns including bills and insurance to appropriate personnel.
- Accept and record payments for patient bills.
Required:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Prior medical office experience is a plus,
· Prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion is a plus
· Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office and Windows based computer application
Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Strong customer service skills and comfortable answering both patient and insurance company questions
· Highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated
· Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
· Ability to operate a multiline telephone system, and other standard office equipment.
· Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and multi-task under pressure.
· Ability to work independently as well as with a team are essential.
