Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties:
Provide basic and advanced (Tier 2) technical assistance to computer and network system users by answering questions, troubleshooting and resolving network access, network service, software, and hardware problems, including but not limited to printing, software installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems for clients in person, via telephone or from a remote location. Provide supervision, technical assistance, and support to student staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education:
Course work leading to a degree Certificate
Discipline / Degree Area:
CS, CIS, or equivalent
Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Another discipline/degree area may be considered.
Thinkpad and Apple hardware certifications required within 12 months of the date of hire.

Required Minimum Work Experience:
Eighteen months hands-on computer repair work experience.
Eighteen months' work experience in software installation, maintenance and trouble shooting, and reading and interpreting technical manuals.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:
Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications.
Possess minimal programming skills.
Possess active listening, critical thinking, complex problem solving, and time management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication and comprehension skills.
Ability to perform quality control analysis with strong attention to detail.
Good customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
