POSITION SUMMARY:
The Northern Middlesex YMCA is seeking a dedicated and dependable Part-Time Evening/Weekend Member Services Representative to support our mission of strengthening the community. This role ensures a welcoming and safe environment for all members and guests while overseeing front desk operations and closing the facility each day. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service and enforce YMCA policies while ensuring smooth and secure evening and weekend operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as the lead staff member and first point of contact for evening and weekend shifts, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, and program participants both in-person and over the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Conduct membership sales and track tours, engaging with prospective members.
- Handle membership inquiries, transactions, and concerns, escalating unresolved issues as needed.
- Resolve member conflicts, complaints, or disputes professionally, escalating issues as needed.
- Enforce YMCA policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
- Oversee building closing procedures, ensuring all members have exited and securing the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby and front desk area.
- Serve as a point of contact for evening and weekend emergencies, coordinating with YMCA leadership as necessary.
- Collaborate with all departments to support events, programs, and engagement efforts.
- Handle daily financial transactions, reconcile cash drawers, and ensure accurate reporting at the end of shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in customer service, sales, or front desk operations.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to work independently, manage building operations, and handle emergency situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with membership management software preferred.
- Availability for evening and weekend shifts is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Regularly required to use a computer and communicate using a phone/smart device.
- Frequently required to move around the facility, sit, reach, and lift up to 10 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
