Job Summary
: This position is responsible for duties in support of departmental efficiencies, which may include but not limited to training of staff, educational updates, contributing/ leading department meetings, rounding, disciplinary action, payroll, evaluations, competency assessment, scheduling, registration, pre-registration, verification, authorization, admission, reception and collection functions. Patient Access representatives must employ proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques. Must obtain complete and accurate patient demographic information in accordance with all regulations and hospital policies to provide care for the patients, procure reimbursement, verification from third parties and maintain records appropriately.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of daily patient access tasks
  • Ensures a high level of quality, customer service and communication are provided to patients and helps to de-escalate and resolve patient concerns
  • Offers guidance to employees related to pre- and point-of-service collection activity, consent completion, insurance verification and other Patient Access goals.
  • Assures the Patient Access Manager is informed of any unusual and significant issues that may affect patient satisfaction, timeliness of services, reimbursement or general patient flow and works collaboratively with leadership for solutions.

Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to Northern Nevada Sierra’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.

Salary: Starting from $26.65 to $39.97 an hour
