MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Child Development Associate credential or bachelor’s degree in education
- 3 years teaching experience in childcare or PreK-12 education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in education
- Pennsylvania teaching certification in 1 or more areas
- 2 years administrative experience in childcare or PreK-12 education
- 1 years of grant writing experience
- 1 years of experience in higher education teaching or administration
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Education Program Coordinator will manage cohort-based programs in Education Studies, Early Childhood Education, and Child Development Associate Preparation. Responsibilities include recruiting, enrolling, handling logistics, collaborating with workforce development, securing program funding, managing professional development hours, teaching courses, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in education and government.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The Education Program Coordinator will work with the Directors of Applied Studies and Workforce Development to:
- Recruit, enroll, and manage logistics necessary for the facilitation of cohort-based programs in Education Studies, Early Childhood Education, and Child Development Associate Preparation;
- Collaborate directly with workforce development to address logistical tasks for Child Development Associate Preparation programming
- Collaborate with external partners and granting agencies to secure program funding;
- Manage logging of professional development hours for students as required in the PA PD Registry and Act 48 PERMS Systems; and
- Teach courses in Education programs as needed to maintain a full-time workload.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with external stakeholders in childcare, PreK-12 education, higher education, and associated government offices.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Consistent access to a vehicle and/or reliable means to get to work on time every workday
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to obtain the following clearances and training:
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History Record Check
- Federal Criminal History Background Check
- Training Certificate - Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania

WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:

- Office assignment contingent upon business need
- Work hours: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Thursday, and 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Friday
- This position requires work hour flexibility and varied hours, including evenings and weekends
- Notwithstanding the office hours, full-time salaried employees are expected to work 40 hours weekly
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
