PART TIME 25-30 HRS
- Perform order entry tasks and related activities in support of the medication dispensing process.
- Enter new and refill orders in a timely and accurate manner based upon priority assigned
- Complete all data fields according to pharmacy procedures including use of approved abbreviations including dosage and day supply calculations.
- Comply with a process that addresses all state and federal guidelines regarding medication labeling.
- Assists all customers calls in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist all patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Cross train in all areas of the Pharmacy department
- Consult with dispensing pharmacist regarding prescription order clarification, order entry problems or concerns
- Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA
- Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary depending on business needs
Requirements
Minimum (Required) Qualifications: (must be met in order to perform the job at the required level)
- Licensed/Registered pharmacy technician required by Maryland state law
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous pharmacy experience required (one year experience in a retail pharmacy preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be flexible
- Good organizational skills and detail oriented
- Knowledge of medical terminology (including sig codes and Roman numeral), brand and generic names of medications and general pharmacy terminology
- Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently when inputting information
- Ability to maintain composure on phone when handling customer calls
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Basic math and analytical skills
- Intermediate typing/keyboarding skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- This is a part time position and applicant MUST be able to work until 7pm and at least 2 weekends a month and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using PioneerRX
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook
Must be able to sit and/or stand for 7-10hrs a day. Must be able to lift 25lbs. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must enjoy working with the public.
