We are currently looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to add to the Northern Pike Veterinary Hospital team. The ideal candidate must have a good work ethic, be self-motivated and be a strong team player. We are a busy, growing clinic and we depend on our caring, compassionate and reliable staff to create a positive experience for our clients and patients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Helping doctors with physical examinations
- Assisting the receptionists
- Client communication and education
- Dispensing medications
- Restrain patients
- Helping position patients for radiographs
- Provide nursing and comfort care for pets
- Performing treatments, collecting samples (blood/urine/feces), and processing laboratory diagnostic tests.
- Help to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
Job Requirements:
- Veterinary Technician credentials not required, but preferred.
- 1 years of veterinary experience required.
- Surgical experience is a plus.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend/kneel throughout the day, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be comfortable with proper restraint on dogs and cats.
- Must be accountable, punctual and show up for work with a can-do, positive attitude.
- Must have a passion for excellence in animal care.
- Must have a flexible schedule with availability on weekends and some holidays.
- Must be receptive to training with a positive team attitude.
We are trying to build a stable, solid team. Experience is preferred, but someone with a good work ethic and desire to succeed is strongly considered. Dedication, punctuality, willingness to learn and being a team player are MOST IMPORTANT!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
