We are seeking a Grant Writer/ Fundraiser to join our Department of Strategic Advancement team. This part-time position will work approximately 20 hours per week.
Essential Functions include:
- Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization
- Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies
- Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization
- Manage the life cycle of a grant including: research and identify suitable RFPs, write and submit grants, gather and compile necessary data, consult with appropriate stakeholders, present grants if needed, submit applicable data reporting required of grants
- Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals
- Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders
- Complete data reporting as required by grants; maintain records and submit reports as needed
- Identify and build relationships with potential donors
- Secure commitments of participation or donation from individuals or corporate donors
- Maintain relationships with donors—complete follow up and thanks as needed
- Coordinate fundraising events for the agency, including planning prior to the event and day of coordination. This may include leading a committee of colleagues to assist with event planning.
- Develop system to track charitable giving
- Create and update a donor database
- Collaborate with the Development Director to complete the following duties:
- Plan, organize and execute fundraising events
- Connect with potential donors
- Develop marketing campaigns for fundraising activities
- Record donations, sponsors and other fundraising details
- Monitor the success of donation campaigns
- Generate awareness about the organization
- Research potential sponsors and donors
Qualifications include:
- Travel is a function of this position; a valid driver's license is required
- High School Diploma or approved equivalent combination of education is required
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, creative writing, behavioral sciences, or a related area is preferred
Compensation & Benefits include:
- Wage Range: $21.00 - $26.50/ hour
