Northern Plains Distributing - North Dakota Territory Manager
Northern Plains Distributing (NPD) is a North Dakota based home appliance and outdoor cooking distributor. NPD was established in 1976 and currently has distribution centers in West Fargo, ND and Milwaukee, WI. We serve a customer base in seven States and Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We proudly deliver products to our customer base on our own fleet of trucks and employ our own drivers and logistics team.
A Territory Manager is a sales professional responsible for overseeing a designated geographical area, building and maintaining customer relationships, developing sales strategies, and achieving sales targets within that territory. This is accomplished through direct customer interaction and account management; essentially acting as the "face" of the company within the assigned region.
Territory Managers are expected to become product experts and add value to customers through knowledge, prompt follow-up, and sales support.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Customer Relationship Building:
Establishing, maintaining, and nurturing strong relationships with existing and potential customers within their territory through regular visits, communication, and understanding their needs.
Sales Strategy Development:
Creating and implementing sales plans to maximize revenue within their assigned territory, including identifying new sales opportunities and market trends.
Sales Goal Achievement:
Meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas set for the territory by effectively managing and growing the customer base.
Market Analysis:
Analyze the market to identify potential new customers, competitor activity, and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
Product Knowledge:
Gain in-depth knowledge of the company's products and services to effectively present them to customers and address inquiries and needs.
Customer Service:
Address customer concerns, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Lead Generation:
Identify and qualify new potential customers within their territory.
Sales Meetings and Sales Training:
Deliver compelling and effective presentations to prospective and existing clients to promote the company's products and services. Educate and sales train clients’ employees on selling existing and new products.
Skills and Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years sales experience
- Strong sales skills and proven track record of achieving sales targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Sute is a must
- A valid drivers license is required for travel within the territory
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
