Job Summary: Northern Screw Machine is a dynamic and rapidly growing aerospace parts manufacturer seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience using Epicor ERP systems, possess strong analytical skills, and be willing to handle various administrative tasks to support the overall business.
***This role will be tasked with overhauling the accounting function***
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee the general ledger, manage month-end close processes, prepare financial statements, and maintain accurate financial records within the Epicor ERP system.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets, perform variance analysis, and provide forecast updates to aid in strategic decision-making.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Inventory Accounting: Work closely with production to manage and account for inventory within Epicor, including cost analysis and valuation.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all financial regulatory requirements; prepare and submit necessary reports to federal, state, and local authorities.
- System Utilization: Leverage Epicor ERP for all accounting functionalities, from basic data entry to complex financial reporting, ensuring system data integrity and accuracy.
- Audit Support: Prepare documentation and support during internal and external audits.
- Purchasing: Support the purchasing function to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of input materials for the business.
- Administrative Duties: Handle administrative tasks related to accounting, such as document management, filing, and coordination with other departments for financial data accuracy.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred, but not required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Proven, deep, experience with Epicor ERP; additional experience with other ERP systems is a plus.
Skills:
- Expert ability to use (and train) Epicor ERP system
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management and staff.
