Position Overview: We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring our products are shipped accurately and efficiently to our clients worldwide. You will be responsible for a blend of administrative duties, data entry, and the development of documentation to streamline our shipping processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping Coordination:
- Prepare and process shipments in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pick-ups and manage delivery timelines.
- Ensure all shipments are labeled correctly and packed securely.
Administrative Tasks:
- Manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping manifests.
- Handle communications with customers regarding shipping details and inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments and inventory levels.
Data Entry:
- Enter shipping, receiving, and inventory data into our ERP system accurately.
- Update databases with new shipping details or changes to existing records.
Documentation Development:
- Develop and update how-to guides and procedural documentation for shipping processes.
- Create training materials for new hires in the shipping department to ensure consistency in operations.
Compliance:
- Ensure all shipping activities comply with international and domestic regulations.
- Keep abreast of changes in shipping laws and regulations affecting aerospace shipments.
Miscellaneous:
- Assist with inventory control, including periodic physical counts.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping efficiency.
- Assist with other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar role, preferably within manufacturing or aerospace.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems (preferably Epicor) is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information:
· Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and perform tasks that involve standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
· Work Environment: Warehouse environment.
