The Forestry Technician 3 (FT3) position is a full-time/permanent position with benefits. The primary responsibility of the FT3 is the implementation of vegetation management treatments. The FT3 is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of power equipment, chippers, and hand tools to limb up and remove small trees, bushes and other vegetation. The FT3 moves cut vegetation to a chipper and feeds into the chipper. The FT3 must be able to follow directions and work diligently in the implementation of vegetation management projects. The FT3 is responsible for maintaining equipment and tools in peak working condition. This position may also involve participation in pile and broadcast burning.
