Northern Star has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Accounts Clerk at our world-class Pogo Operations on a 5 day on, 2 day off position. This opportunity is offered is located in our Fairbanks, AK office working Monday - Friday.

What's the role?
The Accounting Clerk reports to the Financial Controller, and the primary role is to process employee timecards and account payable invoices and maintain appropriate records and accounts within the Finance Team.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
Payroll
- Complete monthly and bi-weekly payrolls within the electronic transfer timeframes, whilst ensuring
confidentiality of all personal information. Assist with all employee queries. - Assist with payroll reports and complete end of month functions and reporting.
- Post adjustments and corrections as necessary.
- Work with supervision to aid in the proper administration of payroll policies.
- Reconcile payroll inputs (holidays, paid time off, absences, bonuses and adjustments0 to ensure payroll
accuracy. - Prepare and maintain payroll reports.
- Prepare and submit biweekly payroll obligations, e.g. payroll taxes and garnishments.
Accounts Payable
- Process invoices in accordance with Company policies and procedures
- Verify cost/project coding is appropriate and ensure invoices are authorised in accordance with the
delegations of authority limits. Ensure company payment obligations to vendors are processed in an
accurate and timely manner. - Perform fortnightly EFT payment runs within approved limits.
- Perform cash flow forecasts as requested by the Business Analyst Team.
- Reconcile supplier statements.
- Maintain accurate files of all payments made to vendors and employees with proper support and
documentation. - Work with Materials group and responsible parties to deal with problem invoices so that vendor
obligations are met.
Key Role Qualifications & Experience Required
- Experience in payroll and accounts payable preparation, processing and reporting.
- Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel.
- Good knowledge of general accounting procedures.
- Good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Current Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a background check and post-offer physical.
