Northern Star Scouting is seeking a passionate individual to make a positive, impactful difference in the lives of young people and families in our community. As a full-time Camp Director you will be responsible for planning and executing a high-quality, mission-driven camp experience for participants.
This exempt position is in the pay range of $35,500 to $69,600, with most newly hired employees starting at $45,000. You are also eligible for our generous benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, retirement plan and paid holidays / PTO.
Position requires applicant to live on-site at Many Point Scout Camp near Park Rapids, MN during summer camp season of June through August. Remainder of the year based at our Base Camp location in Fort Snelling, MN near the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Responsibilities :
- Hiring and management of seasonal camp staff.
- Direct supervision of camp maintenance personnel.
- Oversight of program delivery and development.
- Promotional efforts to attract campers.
- Management of budgets and volunteer resources.
- Oversight of health and safety practices.
- Annual strategic direction and planning.
- Identification of new markets and populations to serve.
Qualifications :
Must be age 21 or older and have a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience : Business / management experience is preferred, including budget, supervisory and program development / implementation experience.
Skills : Must be a goal-oriented problem-solver, with strong organizational skills as well as verbal and written communication skills. Creativity and ability to juggle multiple projects while adhering to deadlines are important attributes of this position. Experience as an effective member of a team and a team leader are valued. Must be able to work independently under limited supervision and be dependable, accurate and detail-oriented.
Strong familiarity with basic Microsoft Office programs is required.
Previous experience as a camp director or member of a camp leadership team is preferred.
