AutoCAD Detailer

Northern Steel Services is currently seeking an AutoCAD Detailer to join our team. We primarily work on, but not limited to, structural support steel for conveyor processing. Our management team has been working together for many years and are highly involved in the growth and development of our employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Review customer’s design criteria, including RFC drawings, building drawings, and specifications.

· Perform field checks via laser scanning, with additional field measurements as required.

· Work from designed sketches, drawings, models, and specifications created by manager.

· 3D Model the Northern Steel Services design, using 3D drafting software (Advance Steel).

· Produce approval layouts and submit to the customer.

· Produce complete shop fabrication drawings with accurate dimensions and required information.

· Produce installation drawings for field use.

· Perform site visit after installation of steel to verify accuracy of installation for as-built drawings.

· Participate in company safety programs and meetings.

· Continue professional development.

· Work from the main office with the possibility of limited travel to job sites.

Qualifications:

· Proficient in the use of AutoCAD 3D software preferred.

· Excellent computer skills, written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task.

· Ability to work effectively independently, and within a team environment.

· Ability to raise issues proactively, and in a timely manner.

· Strong attention to detail, and ability to double check and review your work.

· Competency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are a plus.

· Flexibility, with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

Education and/or Experience:

· High School Diploma required.

· Associates Degree or related experience preferred.
