What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Preschool Teacher (ages 3-5)_Full-Time_Bradford, PA position at Northern Tier Community Action Head Start?
Northern Tier Community Action Head Start program has an opening for a full-time Assistant Teacher in our Bradford Start Center classrooms.
These positions provide direct assistance to the Teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment, and supervising children; may also assist in planning and record keeping and other classroom related duties. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood and the ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner are essential job skills.
Experience working with challenging behaviors is required.
The position is Monday-Friday for a total of 37.5 hours for approximately 37-40 weeks/year. A GED or high school diploma, clearances, and a physical are required. CPR and First Aid Certification must be obtained. Additional duties include meal prep, clean-up and grocery shopping.
Candidates with an associate's degree in early childhood education or human development and family studies or those with a CDA (Child Development Certificate) are encouraged to apply.
A CDA (Child Development Certificate) must be earned within two years of starting in our employ. This is a 120-hour training and is paid for by our company.
