What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Preschool Teacher position at Northern Tier Community Action Head Start?
Northern Tier Community Action Head Start program has an opening for a full-time Assistant Teacher in our Kane Head Start Center classroom.
These positions provide direct assistance to the Teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment, and supervising children; may also assist in planning and record keeping and other classroom related duties. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood and the ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner are essential job skills.
The position is Monday-Friday for a total of 37.5 hours for approximately 37-40 weeks/year. A GED or high school diploma, clearances, and a physical are required. CPR and First Aid Certification must be obtained. Additional duties include, meal prep, clean-up and grocery shopping.
Candidates with an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Development and Family Studies or those with a CDA are encouraged to apply.
A CDA (Child Development Associate Certificate) must be earned within two years of starting in our employ. This is a 120 hour training and is paid for by our company.
