Join our team at Northern Tier High Adventure Base and play a vital role in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our participants and staff! As a Summer Housekeeping Manager, you'll oversee the cleanliness of our facilities, manage cleaning supplies, and work collaboratively with our team to ensure a positive experience for everyone. This seasonal position offers a starting salary of $1975/month, with provided food and housing, in the beautiful wilderness of Northern Minnesota.
ABOUT NORTHERN TIER HIGH ADVENTURE BASE / BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
We're a national high adventure base for the Boy Scouts of America, specializing in wilderness canoe treks in the Boundary Waters (Minnesota) and Canada, as well as winter camping treks. Our mission is to provide transformative outdoor experiences based on the Scout Oath and Law. We employ a diverse team of staff from around the world to deliver exceptional wilderness adventures.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SUMMER HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER
As our Summer Cleaning Manager, you'll be the backbone of our base's cleanliness. Your responsibilities will include:
- Facility Cleanliness Management:
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules for various base facilities, including restrooms, showers, dining areas, and common spaces.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Address and resolve cleaning-related issues promptly.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the base.
- Cleaning Supply Management:
- Inventory and order cleaning supplies as needed.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Monitor and manage cleaning supply budgets.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other staff members assigned to cleaning tasks to quality work.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on cleaning procedures.
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding cleaning needs and schedules.
- Work with other staff to ensure the cleaning of all returned equipment.
- Waste Management:
- Ensure proper disposal of trash and recycling.
- Maintain cleanliness of waste disposal areas.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SUMMER HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER
- Age 18 or older.
- Available for the summer from late May - August.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage cleaning supplies and budgets.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and chemicals.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy cleaning supplies.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Previous cleaning or management experience is preferred.
SEASONAL WORK SCHEDULE
This seasonal position typically gets one day off per 6 days on and works throughout the summer from late May to August.
