Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Media Specialist to join our team at the Northern Tier High Adventure Program. As a Digital Media Specialist, you will be responsible for capturing and sharing the essence of our wilderness adventures through high-quality photographs and videos.
About the Position
This is a seasonal position that typically works 6 days on and has one day off per week. The role involves spending time in the wilderness capturing stunning visuals and engaging content, as well as working from base camp to manage and distribute media.
Responsibilities
- On-Location Media Capture:
- Capture high-quality photographs and videos of participants engaged in canoeing, camping, and other wilderness activities.
- Document the natural beauty of the Boundary Waters and surrounding areas.
- Digital Content Creation and Management:
- Create engaging social media content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Edit and process photos and videos using Adobe Creative Suite (or similar software).
- Maintain and organize media archives.
- Assist in creating promotional materials for the program.
- Assist in maintaining the program's website.
- Write blog posts or articles about the Northern Tier experience.
- Base Camp Support:
- Assist with base camp operations as needed, including administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Age 18 or older.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Available for the summer from late May to August.
- Passion for outdoor adventure and storytelling.
- Proficiency in photography and videography.
- Experience with digital editing software (Adobe Creative Suite or similar).
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in remote locations.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Wilderness First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred.
- Own camera equipment is preferred but not required.
