General Description:
This position provides a clean, well-maintained facility in support of the teaching and administrative functions of the campus to make the campus as safe and pleasing to the eye as possible. This includes ensures that the land is maintained at the highest level by using good horticultural principles and practices. If needed, campus may vary.
Duties and Tasks:
This position provides a clean, well-maintained facility in support of the teaching and administrative functions of the campus to make the campus as safe and pleasing to the eye as possible. Duties and Tasks:
- Perform Grounds Maintenance and landscaping support.
- Provide grounds information to supervisor for reports related to scheduling, ongoing projects and equipment status, community service workers, and contractors.
- Operate equipment, perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on grounds equipment.
- Assist trades staff.
- Notifies Supervisor or Facility Manager of all actions & ensures that all projects/tasks are completed.
- Responds to the needs of the Supervisor or Facility Manager & Campus community without hesitation and completes requests in a timely manner.
- Trash, ice and snow are removed promptly and thoroughly to provide a safe environment for the campus population.
- Performs Grounds Maintenance duties in a safe & professional manner at all times.
- Practices standard horticultural principles & practices at all times
Essential Functions:
- Perform Grounds Maintenance and landscaping.
- Maintain and operate equipment.
KSAs:
- Knowledge of horticultural and landscape principles and practices
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more on an as needed basis
- Ability to work with little or no supervision and make sound decisions independently
- Proficient in the use of hand and grounds tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Experience with operating equipment, trouble shooting and repair.
- Operation and maintenance of vehicles and landscape equipment.
- Grounds maintenance and/or landscaping experience
Additional Considerations:
- Certifications in Pesticide Application
- Experienced in Storm Water Management
- Experience in small engine maintenance/repair
