What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Coordinator position at Northern VA Community College?
Eligible for one day telework following successful completion of probationary period and approval of supervisor.
This position will coordinate and provide analysis of service contracts, Facilities’ Operations Policies & Procedures, and other duties as assigned by Associate Director, Operations. This position will be responsible for compliance, ensure service contracts are structured properly, and proper invoice review process is maintained.
Duties and Tasks:
- Coordinate with campus Building and Grounds facility manager and B&G Contract Administrators to ensure service contracts are properly utilized per PO or contract.
- Reviews service contracts and determines if renewal or extension is in the College’s best interest. Monitors renewal and contract expiration dates and coordinates with Purchasing to ensure contracts do not expire without a replacement.
- Tracks and manages costs of service contracts to comply with budget, Facilities Operations Policies and Procedures
- Analyzes existing contracts available through other entities.
- Coordinates invoice review and approval – routing to chain of command.
- Provides coordination for Operations Policies and Procedures.
- Provides monthly budget reports to the Director of Operations for variances between budgets and expenditures for all campuses.
- Maintains and manages contractor performance Evaluations.
- Maintain Roofing Warranty Information for ALL campuses.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

- Experience preparing and conducting professional training session on complex business processes.
