Job Description
Job Description : Loudoun Campus is seeking Adjunct Practical Nurse Faculty to join our team and help educate the next generation of nurses at the Reston Center. These part-time, course-by-course faculty positions are available for the following courses / topics : Pharmacology, Medication Aide, Basic and Advanced Med Surg, Mother-Baby, Pediatrics, and Mental Health. Each semester lasts 15 weeks, with course clock hours ranging from 100 to 382 hours, depending on the course.
Faculty members are expected to remain current in their teaching disciplines and stay informed about trends in community college education. Instruction will include a mix of didactic, online, skills labs, and clinical instruction. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Duties :
- Engage and motivate adult learners, ensuring a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for student success.
- Maintain accurate student participation and performance records.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement and enhance curriculum.
- Responding in a timely manner to student and faculty inquiries.
- Report incidents
- Engage in professional development activities and clinical facility onboarding requirements.
- Maintain current professional competence, certifications, and licensure.
- Hold one office hour a week while teaching.
- Participate in the pinning ceremony
Must reside in the (DC, VA, MD) DMV area.
Instruction may include a variety of modalities : face to face, remote, and online. Instructors will teach in a variety of setting : skills, lab and clinical. All applications will be received on a continuous basis.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
