The Director of Donor Engagement will support our mission of creating life-changing opportunities for our hardworking, dedicated students and faculty by serving as an integral member of the gift planning team. In partnership with the Senior Director of Advancement, the Director will provide strategic planning for donor engagement activities throughout the College of Business and beyond.
Position Summary
The Director of Donor Engagement is an Alumni and Donor Relations professional in the Office of Advancement in the College of Business. The Director is responsible for various duties necessary for effectively strengthening the ties between the alumni, donors, and the college. In addition, the Director will assist in overseeing the strategy, planning, organization, and implementation of programs designed to support the philanthropic endeavors of the College of Business.
The ideal candidate demonstrates self-motivation and commitment to metric-driven performance and results. As a crucial member of the fundraising team, the ability to build and foster meaningful relationships is critical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Donor Engagement Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develops, implements, and executes an alumni engagement plan for the College of Business, which includes alumni events with intended outcomes around engagement, discovery and / or cultivation, value-added programming, and strategic outreach initiatives.
- Oversees and leads initiatives related to donor relations to maximize support from alumni, friends, and corporations through Discovery, Prospecting, and Cultivation.
- Responsible for 35 – 65 annual visits in the Greater Chicagoland area but not limited to the region.
- Progression of job responsibilities will include making 4 – 6 solicitations each year after the first year is completed at the mid-level gift range.
- In partnership with the college’s advancement leadership, direct the college’s progress to donor-centric strategies, emphasizing the bold ideas that define the College of Business’s educational plan and inspire transformational gifts.

Anticipated Appointment Start Date : 11 / 25 / 2024
Standard Hours Per Week : 37.50
Working Hours : Office hours 8 : 00 am – 4 : 30 pm, donor work may also be professionally conducted at times and places consistent with donor availability. This may include nights, weekends, and trips outside the University’s primary locations.
