Job Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Toddler Summer Camp Counselors to join our team for a fun and enriching summer with children ages 3 to 5. As a Toddler Counselor, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for our youngest campers. You will be responsible for leading age-appropriate activities, supervising toddlers, and fostering their personal growth, all while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM
- Camp Dates: June 9th - September 5th (Not required to work all weeks)
Duties:
- Supervise and engage with toddlers during various activities, creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere where they feel safe and supported.
- Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities such as simple arts and crafts, sensory play, storytelling, and outdoor games.
- Provide guidance and support to toddlers as they develop early social skills, communication, and self-confidence.
- Encourage positive behavior and provide gentle redirection to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Communicate effectively with toddlers, parents, and other staff members regarding camper progress, milestones, and any concerns.
- Assist in the implementation of basic first aid procedures when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of camp facilities and toddler-specific equipment, ensuring everything is child-friendly and safe.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children (ages 3-4) in settings such as daycare, preschool, or other childcare environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles is a plus.
- Skills in positive behavior management and creating engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for toddlers are highly beneficial.
- First aid certification is desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and educate toddlers in a fun and supportive manner.
- A positive attitude, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Previous experience in babysitting or similar roles with toddlers is a plus.
