POSITION SUMMARY
Northern Water is seeking a seasonal employee to maintain various aspects of the grounds and facilities at the Berthoud campus. This individual will perform landscape care, pruning, weeding and small design upgrades, as well as assist with maintaining lawns, water feature, irrigation repair, mulching, replacing foliage and weed control.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Facilities and Equipment Department manages and oversees all Northern Water buildings and grounds located at the Berthoud campus and all vehicles, equipment on both East and West Slopes. This department is responsible for inspections, custodial, electrical, mechanical, structural, grounds and landscaping needs. Additionally, this team supports safety, security team, special events and assists other departments with their projects as needed.
GENERAL STATEMENT
This position is responsible for the daily care and maintenance of Northern Water grounds and facilities, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Trims and edges turf.
- Assists in irrigation repairs.
- Replaces trees and exposes irrigation pipes for repair.
- Removes and replaces sod.
- Chips and shreds green waste.
- Mulches beds and weed removal.
- Cleans water features, sidewalks and building exteriors.
- Assists with installation and modification of landscape features.
- Maintains cleanliness of building exteriors and parking areas.
- Operates a wide variety of equipment, such as utility carts, edgers, string trimmers, blowers and other power equipment.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting building and equipment departments, as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- Landscape maintenance experience.
- Experience with small hand and power tools.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATE AND CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- General knowledge of the ground’s operations and equipment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work with little to no direct supervision, once trained.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, lift, climb ladders, dig, shovel, lift up to 50 pounds, etc.
- The majority of job duties will be accomplished outdoors, exposing the employee to temperature extremes, intense sunlight, rain, high winds, dust, pollen, etc.
- Must comply with workplace safety rules and use appropriate PPE.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of a post job offer physical examination.

- Must be at least 16 years of age.
