Job Summary
The Dental Hygiene Department is seeking a student assistant during the academic year to support the program with a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. Responsibilities include organizing and interpreting radiographs, sorting and identifying extracted teeth, preparing lab demonstrations, typing and filing documents both electronically and in paper form, and sterilizing clinical instruments. The assistant will also help with preparations for mock board exams, the recognition ceremony, and general office tasks such as filing, labeling, and organizing. The primary role of the Program Assistant is to assist the full-time Dental Hygiene faculty and staff by completing assigned tasks accurately and efficiently. This position plays an essential role in maintaining the smooth operation of the department and contributing to student success.

Education/Qualifications
- Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
- Sheridan College Student currently enrolled in the Dental Hygiene Program- Junior student preferred/Sophomore student may be considered.
- Cumulative GPA is 3.0 or greater
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must have basic knowledge of head and neck anatomy, dental anatomy, dental materials and infection control.
- Ability to use Canvas.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint Microsoft programs and have keyboarding skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Personal characteristics of punctuality, attention to detail, honesty and accountability.
