Job Summary
The Certified Athletic Trainer ensures high-quality care for student athletes through injury prevention, education, physical training protocols, injury recognition, and rehabilitation. This position requires direct interaction with collegiate student athletes.
Job Setting
Based out of our Northfield Rehabilitation Services location and assigned to primarily support Carleton College, with occasional coverage at other educational institutions in which NH C provides services.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The wage range for this position is $57,116.80-$80,641.60 annually. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities:

Provide athletic training services for the contracted athletic departments, attend scheduled team practices, home and away competitions, as necessary.

Coordinate and schedule physical examinations for medical referrals, support decisions for athletes’ ability to practice and compete.

Ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs, work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to customized to meet individual student athlete needs. Evaluate and recommend new techniques that would enhance the benefits of the sports program.

Ensures coverage of sporting events, works in collaboration with the athletic training supervisor to establish a plan of action for coverage of all assigned practices and competition including staffing, emergency response and on-site care of athletes.

Conveys clear verbal and written instructions to athletes, parents and/or coaches utilizing appropriate terminology.

Demonstrate thorough recordkeeping and documentation of injuries and treatment provided.

Responsible for supervising Sports Medicine Assistants (Student Workers)

Club sport injury clinic evaluations are twice a week.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is required for certification prior to December 31, 2022. A Master’s Degree is required for certification after January 1, 2023.

Certified through the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers

Licensed by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice

Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification (or within 6 months of hire, company paid)
Schedule, Coverage, and Institutional Support

Exempt position at 1.0 FTE

Schedule is determined by the coverage needs of the partner educational institution.

Responsible for coverage of all contracted events and training room hours during the academic year.

Summer schedule is typically lighter and determined by Athletic Director input, athlete training schedules, and program needs.

Primarily supports Carleton College, with occasional coverage at other educational institutions served by NH C.
