Job Summary
Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services and appropriate referrals as necessary to all clients exhibiting a speech, language, hearing or swallowing disorder. This position works with pediatrics, adult outpatient and inpatient, swallow studies, and video swallows.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The wage range for this position is: $71,552-$101,025.60, annually. This range reflects the base salary for this position at a 1.0 FTE.
Key Accountabilities

Manages daily activities of speech-language service including scheduling, documentation, materials, and equipment.

Completes documentation to meet professional standards-based on evaluation.

Current and accurate record of patient evaluation, daily progress, treatment, assessment, goals and plan of care.

Documentation is functionally based according to standards.

Documentation is timely- Initial evaluation, Medical Certification, Re-evaluation, Discharges.

Performs diagnostic evaluations and provides written reports as necessary for the medical record and third party payers.

Provides direct patient care-within accepted standards of care in accordance within ASHA regulations, exhibiting strong knowledge base for client population.

Educates patient, family and caregivers relative to the goals, methods used and how to perform home program as needed.

Exhibits initiative within the work place exhibited in:

Adapt/change patient treatment plan if progress not as anticipated

Scheduling changes to accommodate increase/decrease in patient load

Participation in promotion of professional

Share knowledge with CSMR staff through inservices, written documents or verbal communication.

Communicates effectively with patients, caregivers, professionals and support staff to achieve desired patient outcomes.

Provides direction and leadership to rehab aides, support staff, students, and visitors when called upon.

Exhibits dependability and flexibility to perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Adheres to established hospital and department policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.

Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and licensed to practice in the State of Minnesota.

Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification or obtained within 6 months of hire date

LSVT Loud certification preferred

Displayed ability to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds with varied speech and language needs, preferred

Ability to be flexible to the demands of changes in a daily/weekly schedule, preferred

Willingness to coordinate activities with other services and agencies, preferred

Ability and willingness to promote rehabilitation techniques to medical professionals and the community, preferred
