NorthKey Community Care has an opening for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide quality and flexible medication management and behavioral health services to child, adolescent, and adult clients with serious mental illness (SMI), severe emotional disturbance (SED), and substance use diagnoses. This position will be between the Covington and Florence offices with a set schedule at each location. This is an onsite position and requires the ability to commute to or live in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or above in a nursing field of study from an accredited school
- Current license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Kentucky, or ability to obtain licensure in Kentucky
- Relevant experience, knowledge, and expertise in the behavioral health field
- Must have experience working with children and adolescents
- An active DEA is highly desirable but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides medication management services based upon initial and ongoing assessments of child, adolescent, and adult clients with SMI, SED, and SUD diagnoses.
- Develop individual service plans based on assessment data and provide appropriate medication interventions as necessary to resolve presenting symptoms.
- Performs patient history screenings, risk factor assessments, and ordering of therapeutic and diagnostic tests as indicated by client status.
- Appropriately prescribes medications following organizational policies and relevant federal/state regulations.
- Consult with the Lead Medical Officer on cases that are beyond the scope of knowledge and expertise.
- Adheres to appropriate standards of care, and ensures clients are seen routinely before providing medication refills.
- Responsible for monitoring individuals on caseload for changes or declines in mental status or medical conditions.
- Work independently with other members of the professional staff to promote quality and effective patient care.
- Completes quality documentation of services provided, including service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, treatment plan reviews, and other required information to assure compliance with organizational policies and third-party compliance standards.
- Participate in staffing meetings and consultation with other clinicians to assess therapeutic needs of clients and encourage appropriate referrals to internal and external community services.
- Maintain communication and positive multi-disciplinary working relationships with clinicians and other related professionals in the community. This will include making appropriate referrals, sharing clinical information within HIPAA guidelines, and providing clinically appropriate interventions and collaborations.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation within an electronic health record, prepare and complete progress notes, assessments, reports, schedules, and other documentation as required of the position.
- Attend and participate in relevant continuing education and in-service training to improve professional competency and clinical intervention skills.
- Maintain flexible hours to meet agency and client needs.
- This position may perform services in the outpatient office, school, or other external setting as needed.
