Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for providing office clerical assistance for the Nursing department. Coordinates Appointment Calendar. Create and Maintain required files. Prepare and Distribute information, materials, and schedules. Transcribe meeting minutes. Screen and Distribute Administrative Telephone calls and Mail. Prepares contracts or other documentation as required. Coordinates and schedules internal meetings. Prepares all required information. Maintains proper records of meetings Schedules and arranges for meeting preparations as needed. Coordinates Board of Trustee reporting and regulatory functioning. Participates in mgmt projects as appropriate. Composes correspondence and reports as requested. Maintains strict confidence of Administrators. Keeps nursing and clinical phone list updated and disseminated. Participates in Regulatory Body Survey preparation and compliance activities. Maintains licensure, accreditation, and other regulatory documentation in admin offices. Assists in preparation of any regulatory documentation requests as needed. Writes, types, or enters information into computer to prepare correspondence, training, patient/resident information, nursing schools, and other documents. Proofreads records or forms. Sorts and files records. Answers telephone, conveys messages, and runs errands.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associates degree preferred with one (1) year experience in the medical field or High School Diploma or GED required with three (3) years’ experience in the medical field
Experience: One (1) – two (2) years of Administration Assistant experience preferred. Type 60 wpm preferred

Work Demands/Environment: Ability to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situation such as being verbally or physically confronted in a threatening or aggressive manner; must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot traffic; ability to handle interruptions often and be able to move from one task to another; must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinions. While worker may possibly be subjected to temperature changes, the worker is generally not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as the work is predominantly inside. Worker must have the ability to stand for at least 8 hours in order to adequately supervise patients.
