Receptionist and Optometric Technician

About the Role
As a receptionist and optometric technician, you’ll be a key player in delivering exceptional patient experiences. Our ideal candidate excels in customer service, clerical work, and technical tasks while fostering a welcoming and professional environment. This position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Provide first-class care during every patient interaction.

Front Desk Management:

  • Answer phone calls and manage office voicemail.
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
  • Respond to messages via Doctible and office email.
  • Navigate insurance systems to verify patient eligibility and process claims.

Optometric Equipment Operation:

  • Use equipment such as automated visual acuity charts, Clarifye, iCare tonometers, automated lensometers, visual fields, OCT, and Optomap digital imaging.
  • Maintain and clean exam rooms and equipment.

Administrative Duties:

  • Adhere to company policies, including HIPAA, and assist with general office tasks as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Positive, friendly attitude with a commitment to patient care.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and initiative in completing tasks and contributing to practice goals.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality.
  • Availability for weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
  • Willingness to learn and grow in optometric knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Desire to foster a positive and inclusive workplace.
  • Availability to start as soon as possible.
